Below are laws and regulations on aviation security and related incidents
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority is in the process of amending the Civil Aviation (Security) Regulations, 2020 to incorporate new and emerging needs and requirements as well as new requirements in Amendment 18 of Annex 17 to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.
The revised regulations were subjected to stakeholder comments during a meeting that was held at Panari Hotel in Nairobi from 12th to 14th June 2024. This was in compliance with the provisions of the Statutory Instruments Act, 2013 and the the Regulation Making Process.
Submission of written comments from the stakeholders were received, deliberated upon and adopted as appropriate during and after the stakeholder engagement.
Once the Regulations go through the Parliamentary process and approval by the Cabinet Secretary responsible for Civil Aviation, they shall be promulgated as appropriate for implementation.
