Powers of the Board

The KCAA Board of Directors has the powers necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the Authority in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Aviation Act No 21 of 2013:

(a) control and oversee the administration of the assets of the Authority in such manner and for such purposes as best promote the purposes for which the Authority is established; and

(b) determine the provisions to be made for capital and recurrent expenditure and for reserves of the Authority

Responsibilities and powers of the Director-General

The KCAA Director General is responsible to the Board for the day to day management of the Authority and is responsible for the exercise of all powers  and the discharge of all functions of the Authority and control over all personnel and activities of the Authority.

The Director-General shall exercise such powers as are necessary for the performance of the functions of the Authority to enable the objectives, implementation and applications of the regulations made under the Act.
